Every family has a rich history and I’ve always had an interest in uncovering our past ancestors and remembering our aunts, uncles, and cousins. As I’ve gotten older, this interest has grown. Over the years, I’ve done quite a lot of research to collect data and create my version of our family tree and a family data table. After retiring in 2016 I started collecting more family data and made attempts to create lists of family members and create a family tree. After organizing and reorganizing the data I decided to piece together my version of a family tree and other family charts. I soon realized that it would be difficult to share this information with other family members. This is when I decided to create a web page. I purchased a few domain names and started to teach myself how to create a website. I decided to use the Google platform for the website since it is free and appeared easy to use. I learned that Google sites is a bit limited but still very functional. I wanted the site to be fancier but that doesn't appear to be in my genealogy Genes. This webpage is my attempt to share the information I have gathered. I also hope that future generations will continue this process.
This Family Site is not intended to be a full study of our family's genealogy. My goal for this website is to create a place where we can all learn more about our family and share information about our ancestors. I would like this to be a collaborative effort that spans generations.
If you have any family stories, documents, or photos, please share them for possible addition to this website. Please include content source(s) for any data submitted. Link to Ancestry Submission Form
I have taken steps to authenticate as much data as possible before posting it on this website. Reference source document names are available on the 'References and External Links' page, and each family's specific sources can be viewed on the 'Laurie Reference Documents' and 'Fazio Reference Documents' pages.
Some information, passed down verbally, has not yet been verified. For any unverified information relevant to our family, I have attempted to link it to actual documents using standard genealogy resources and have included it with a source of 'Laurie Family Data'."
I have learned that many variations of information is commonly found on different documents. Some may be spelling differences or actual name changes over the years. Other differences may be how or who filled out a given form. There is also an issue with the legibility of handwriting on many documents and trying to translate some Italian references.
This site is an ongoing work in progress. I plan to keep a log of any changes, updates, or additions. Each time I publish a change, the log will be updated, so be sure to check the Change Log menu.
Most importantly, feel free to explore. There are more pages with information pertaining to how I created this site, the trees, data tables, and some technical stuff, too. Use the More menu to find Site Conventions, Tips and Suggestions, Technical Notes, References and Sources, and Communications.
I hope you find this site informative and inspiring, and I’m excited to share it with you all.
